Falls Road is pretty sweet

Falls Road, in between Hampden and Mount Vernon, is a positively magical stretch of road which features (among other things) the Baltimore Streetcar Museum. It’s a shockingly scenic area of the city – a bizarre nature escape combined with the steel and brick of old architecture that abruptly ends with you being dumped out onto Maryland Avenue facing the concrete jungle tinder-filled forest of the rest of the city. Sooooo go check it out sometime!

  1. whoa, i think i drove down there accidentally one time when i was trying to park for joe2. i didn’t reach the museum, just saw some deteriorating boxcars streetcars and U-turned my way outta there b/c i thought i was somewhere i wasn’t allowed to drive.

  2. Agreed! The other end (of the old-school, windy part) is pretty much in my back yard. It’s my favorite shortcut to get to Mt. Vernon/Station North from Hampden.
