Nepenthe, new homebrew store, comes to Woodberry

Continuing its steady march to fully becoming Little Portland comes the news that Nepenthe (3600 Clipper Mill Rd, Woodberry), a home brew supply store with the new and exciting option of brewing on premises, is now alive and kicking in Woodberry. As Baltimore’s home brew scene begins to expand more and more, enriching everyone’s lives with highly successful events/groups like Baltibrew and their ChiliBrew (for instance), FINALLY having a dedicated home brew spot within city limits is most definitely a good thing. Don’t get us wrong, MD Homebrew and the scant other home brew facilities out there in them there counties are great, but the one-two punch of being able to stock up on much needed supplies, glassware and so forth with the option of brewing on site for a flat fee and no equipment necessary is an amazing option for beginners and folks without the adequate storage space for stuff like say fermenters, copper pipes, chillers, cajun cookers, bags of grain, hops, extracts, yeasts, spent grain disposal, two story bottle dryer racks, bottles, cappers, kegs, kegerators, — right. Lots of stuff going on.

At any rate, if you get the chance and/or are a homebrew enthusiast Nepenthe might be your new favorite place to be. Betting dollars to donuts that a shit ton of beer events will be taking place there in the near future and we’re looking forward to it!

  1. This is very good news. Come over to Union Craft Brewery on the 16th and see homebrewing in action. The Brewtherville Labs Brew Club will be brewing on the grounds of UCB. Then go stop in at Napenthe.
