A Getting There post alerted me to PETA’s latest attempt at “Helping various things that need money” in the form of poster adverts on our highway tollbooths, whereas the money paid by the organization could conceivably help to keep MD’s increasingly outrageous toll fees stable for a while (and actually, it’s not a half bad idea). But by the virtue of the adverts/organizations “controversial” nature – i.e. naked women claiming how awesome veganism is – this prompts some sort of blog post or article by the local media talking about how controversial PETA is, while displaying said controversial ad in print, and therefore giving PETA free advertisement. Gotta give it to them, it’s smart. Hell, I even fell for it last time, when PETA pulled a similar maneuver to keep the Poe House afloat by plastering some Poe-themed anti-meat thingy on the walls of the building.
Well played, PETA. But I’m not falling for it again!

….shit.
