So I’ve been slaving away for the past few days working on a varied and awesome collection of Google Maps – well, Google Earth .kml files – that center on Baltimore in general. Among these projects include map representations of City Paper’s Murder Ink (yes I know they already have one), CP’s Coldest Beers in Baltimore Lists, bar crawl listings, …and so forth. These maps will have a page of their own and will be updated without announcement unless they’re some sort of new feature.
If you’re unfamiliar with Google Earth, well, you should download it because it’s fucking awesome. You can literally layer 400 different kinds of informationon a single map and selectively view essentially whatever you want. So for instance, you could find where the coldest beer in Coldstream Homestead Montebello is, while simultaneously seeing who was murdered there recently! It’s great!
For the time being, here’s an incomplete version of a map for every single neighborhood in Baltimore city. Granted, the city’s website provides a static noninteractive version of this map, but that’s sooooo 20th century y’all. Once it’s finished it will magically appear in its own page.
