Buy one of these rad shirts and support BARCS

For a while now, I’ve had a small run of t-shirts going in the Baltimore area in an effort to raise a little extra cash here and there; an embracing of the entrepreneurial spirit, “beer money” if you will. But then a little while ago I read this …article published in City Paper regarding some individuals’ disappointment in the fund raising capabilities and/or facility quality of one of the area’s most prominent animal shelters – … Read entire article »

Best of Baltimore Readers’ Poll: the grassroots campaign*

DATELINE: BALTIMORE, MD 9:00AM WEDNESDAY – The HTC Eris alerted the user that a tweet had been made: And so, the yearly popularity contest begins: Bmag’s reader’s poll is up, and somehow The City That Breeds has been nominated. ….which is great, but Baltimore Magazine’s reader’s poll has historically generated a great deal of yawn-inducing winners in just about every category; case in point, last year’s “Best Bread” award went to frigging Panera, while “Best Burgers” went … Read entire article »

They’re only a measly $12.50 (+$2.50 shipping), and 100% of the money goes to 2011′s Movember fund (The Prostate Cancer Foundation and … Read entire article »

Donation buckets are also being put out at Little Havana (1325 Key Highway), and a slew of other bars/restaurants around Baltimore have been doing their part to help out in recent days. So get on it! … Read entire article »

Movember 2010 – Mo’ Harder

For the past three years, I’ve been a firm supporter and dedicated fundraiser for the greatest facial hair related charity known to man, Movember. As I mentioned a few weeks ago on Frank Zappa Day, we’ve been putting together this year’s campaign on the side (I even took numerous days away from this precious, precious little crappy blog to work on it) and it has finally come together quite nicely. We’ve got some really fun events lined up, a lot of prizes and totally awesome moustaches on the way. On a personal note, the first year I participated in Movember I (somehow) managed to raise over $600, which was astounding to me. Last year, with the help of some friends, some absconded laser jet paper from work and a whole lot … Read entire article »
