My Picks for the worst ads in America 2011
Consumerist is running one of its most treasured annual routines until October 16th, the Worst Ads Awards, where readers get to vote for, well, the worst ads in America broken down by category (Creepiest, Worst, Most Annoying Performance By a Human, etc.). This year has had a slew of television ads worthy of scorn, some of which *really* suck, others not so much, and still others that should have made the nominee listing but didn’t … Read entire article »

Leroy NOOOOOOOOO!
City Paper reports horrible, awful, catastrophic news: Leroy, the Mayor of Fells Point, has been arrested for assault and subsequently sent to Spring Grove Hospital. The suit lovin’, woman huggin’, smilin’ bastion of Fells Point allegedly punched a cop in the face on May 2nd and was charged with 2nd degree assault and deemed mentally incompetent while awaiting trial, which was scheduled for June 10th. Granted, everyone knows Leroy’s a bit crazy, but as a beloved character of our city he deserves a little support. BONUS: I’ve been told Leroy is in this episode … Read entire article »

OK ECONOMY, WE GET IT, IT’S TIME TO STOP SHITTING THE BED NOW. I looked through my photo collection and found pictoral evidence of the lunacy: 2001 2004 2008 2008 1/2 … Read entire article »

(Mis)Adventures in House Hunting – Part 2
(see part 1) WOOPS forgot about Part 2. What can I say, what doth life life life life life So. We’re briskly vacating the scene of horrors and beating feet back to our respective vehicles, through the rain, quite frankly feeling really uncomfortable to the point of nausea. We arrive at the car and agree to meet up at the first place we toured the day before, so everyone else could see it (we’re moving there this weekend, actually). We’re driving off toward President St. when my phone rings: (paraphrased conversation) “Hey Evan? Yeah my car just got towed.” “Are you [fucking] kidding me? Alright, we’ll turn around and come get you…” Apparently, because (we’ll call her) D parked at the Royal Farms and took more than 35 seconds to come back and get her car, … Read entire article »
