In which Hon disappears, reappears, and Mr. Boh & Sallie Utz fall in love
Once upon a time, in the land of pleasant living, all the Baltimore mascots lived in harmony. On this particular Sunday morning, nothing exciting seemed to be happening. Mr. Boh was sleeping off a hangover. Poe the Raven and The Oriole Bird were fighting over a worm. Sallie Utz was munching away on her fried breakfast. The rats were happily chewing on some garbage. Everything seemed right, except someone was missing. She didn’t have a name, everyone just called her Hon. Soup Month 2009 Begins!!!! (now with bonus contest)
Last year, I spent entirely too much time during the month of December making delicious soups and eating soup and thinking about soup and loving soup, and well lookee here folks, it’s December again. Donating blood; yet another competitive event
As we are all well aware, donating blood is a noble and respectful pursuit, one worthy of a pat on the back and the free cookies or T-shirt that one receives after having sat around for thirty minutes or so, at least a third of which is spent oozing blood out your arm into a plastic bag. And that’s pretty much where it ends. At least, it should be, but that just ain’t enough for many people. While sitting around donating today, I heard some of the weirdest banter coming out of the mouths of boys aged 18-22 trying to one up each other on how Alpha they are at donating blood.
