23 NEW TEXTS FROM MY CAT REESES, AND I LOVE ME SOME JEWS!

23 NEW TEXTS FROM MY CAT REESES, AND I LOVE ME SOME JEWS!

I’m taking a quick detour from my regular Bloggie Route to deliver a follow-up edition of more ‘Texts from Reeses’, which only took up a portion of my last Bloggie (I‘ll post the link at the bottom for the uncool peeps who haven’t read them). This special blog package arrived due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback I got for Reeses, which really was just my drunk buddy slurring “Yo dawg… dat cat of yours be craayyy!”, and … Read entire article »

Slyce the Bar is Home Slyce, Republic Noodle getting a liquor license apparently

A friend of mine sent me a photo on Friday of South Baltimore’s once and forever Bill’s Lighthouse Inn (1741 Light St., Riverside), which in recent history was finally bought and sold to one Haluk K of Cazbar fame, whose plans are to reopen Bill’s as a pizza restaurant under the name “Slyce” (the bar). Well the paint job is done and the sign is up, as you can see here the official name of … Read entire article »

In which Hon disappears, reappears, and Mr. Boh & Sallie Utz fall in love

Once upon a time, in the land of pleasant living, all the Baltimore mascots lived in harmony. On this particular Sunday morning, nothing exciting seemed to be happening. Mr. Boh was sleeping off a hangover. Poe the Raven and The Oriole Bird were fighting over a worm. Sallie Utz was munching away on her fried breakfast. The rats were happily chewing on some garbage. Everything seemed right, except someone was missing. She didn’t have a name, everyone just called her Hon. In true Hon fashion, she always wore tight leopard print pants, red horn rimmed glasses, and had a beehive hair-do. For those not native to Baltimore, just picture Hairspray. No one really seemed to notice at first. The neighborhood did seem a bit quieter and less gaudy, but it wasn’t … Read entire article »

Donating blood; yet another competitive event

As we are all well aware, donating blood is a noble and respectful pursuit, one worthy of a pat on the back and the free cookies or T-shirt that one receives after having sat around for thirty minutes or so, at least a third of which is spent oozing blood out your arm into a plastic bag. And that’s pretty much where it ends. At least, it should be, but that just ain’t enough for many people. While sitting around donating today, I heard some of the weirdest banter coming out of the mouths of boys aged 18-22 trying to one up each other on how Alpha they are at donating blood. Comparing the quality of their veins, bragging about how quickly they can donate their pint of blood (7 minutes … Read entire article »
