Introducing: Holy Shit, That’s Awesome!

In our never ending quest to come up with recurring features that inevitably fall by the wayside, I bring you: “Holy Shit, That’s Awesome!,” a weekly spotlight on events, things and products that you should probably pay attention to. Got an event, thing or product you’d like featured? Email it.

EVENT!

Blog Buddiez Gutter Magazine’s 2nd Annual Dead Celebrities Ball at Metro Gallery (1700 North Charles Street, Charles North), among a trillion other events happening at Station North, promises to be a pretty good time with several live music acts and dope DJs for a measly 5 bucks. Last year’s ball featured a Marilyn Monroe impersonator that got all drunk and fell on herself (may not have actually happened), and this year promises more of the same! (Facebook)

PLACE!

Crab Towne USA, Inc. (1500 Crain Highway, Glen Burnie) Old school dive eatery with all you can eat crabs and shrimp? Maybe, but really the biggest reason to come to Crab Towne is the enormous game room, which features dozens and dozens of pinball machines and video games from the wayback machine. Get your rolls of quarters ready and catch some Pac-Man fever all over again!

PRODUCT!

For quite some time, we’ve been on the up and up on coming up with different ways for the Baltimorean consumer to sidestep Comcast’s stranglehold on the Baltimore cable market, and the Roku HD just dropped in price to an absurdly affordable level. Roku was the original Netflix Boxtop Thingy, but has since grown in awesomeness to include WiFi, Hulu Plus, MLB.com and a gajillion other things, mostly for free, with no additional monthly fees!
